My very talented friend Kenny recently launched his website kyss. to showcases some of his object and jewellery work. Some pieces resonate with me purely due to it's design functionality meshed with simplicity. Hopefully soon, some of these items will be available for purchase.

my weeks in polaroids.

The last two weeks consisted of the following:

- Consuming more alcohol than I have more likely consumed in the last 6 months combined.
- Caught up with friends and talked about what 2013 will be for us.
- What I was previously dreading (refer to this post) actually turned out all for the better, and I can finally start this new chapter afresh.
- Got news that the boyfriend will be back in a week.
- Reliving my high school days of house parties.
- Caught up with an old friend over a late lunch, coffee and red velvet cupcakes.
- Realizing JUST how long my hair really is getting.

Somehow over hang overs and greasy food and whole days worth of recovery, it sums up to be a pretty good week!

Hope everyone has a great Australia Day this weekend! I'll probably have a beer in hand, hanging by the pool with the Triple Js Hottest 100 pumping out of the radio!

santa monica photo diary.

If I had to draw comparisons to home, out of anywhere I have been in the world, it would be Los Angeles. We stayed in Santa Monica Beach, right on the water and only a few minutes walk away from Santa Monica Pier. Being away from the seaside for so long (New York and Washington DC), I forgot how calming the ocean can make me feel.

After a major mishap in LA (my parents leaving my passport at the hotel back in DC, which resulted in me NEARLY missing my flight to LA), out of frustration, I decided to have me time in Santa Monica, walking around the beach and taking in the fresh crisp winter sea air. Doing early morning pier walks by the beach and meeting up with a very smart and a very inspiring lady that I met through blogging, were the highlights of my stay in LA.

I've never been much of an morning person, and hence sunrises are almost always missed. I revel in sunsets as imagine the experience almost similar to that of sunrises. The sky is almost like a blank canvas, painted with many hues and the skyline spotted with distant lights from buildings, with the sound of the ocean lapping up against structures and the sand. My afternoon made.

All photos by me.

I thought I'd give you guys a bit of a break from all my photo diaries of the states. I have yet to get back into doing a proper blog routine (outfits, photos, etc). So this is my first attempt at doing one of these "what I'd like to be wearing" on the weekend type of thing. So please be nice, if this seems somewhat ametuer.
The only piece I am coverting in this series, is the Dion Lee Purity Tank, I would otherwise, have the perfect outfit to hit the beach on a scorching weekend here in Sydney.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and for those in Sydney, hoping you guys have fun and make the most of this good weather!

washington d.c. photo diary.

I arrived in Washington D.C. on a dreary late afternoon, with grey skies looming over the city. For me, DC was a architectural playground, full of monumental "American" buildings (funny architecture school never taught me what that style was).

The White House was actually a little spec of architectural significance compared to some of the other ones scattered across the city. Everything in DC seemed to reflect the grandeur of the American political city, from our hotel; St Regis, to department stores and office blocks.

It was amazing to walk though, and with so many museums to see, I could've spent a week in DC just exploring.
